SETUP | Tremé, the oldest neighborhood in New Orleans and the first for free people of color, was hit disproportionally hard by Hurricane Katrina. Many in the community turned to their Catholic faith, experiencing the strong community, joys, pains, and struggles that are faced by Black Catholics all around America.
RESULT | Black Faith Matters follows Dr. Ansel Augustine, a member of the Tremé community, as he discusses “America’s Original Sin”, classicism, racism, and other social ills while witnessing the power of the Catholic community.

SETUP | In the Dominican Republic, poverty is the way of life for many people. Medical procedures that can be seen as routine or simple are often difficult to attain. The Volunteer Health Program sends doctors to the Dominican Republic yearly to provide free medical care to those who need it, in partnership with local healthcare cooperators.
RESULT | The short documentary helped to raise awareness of the plight of those in the Dominican Republic by bringing out the stories of the community.

SETUP | War has wide-reaching consequences. In addition to physical, mental, and emotional suffering, there is also a spiritual trauma that can take place. This moral suffering is often ignored when dealing with the post-trauma that many veterans experience.
RESULT | Every year, the Knights of Columbus sponsor a group of veterans to attend the International Military Pilgrimage to Lourdes in France. This event features attendees from militaries all around the world as they gather to seek solace, spiritual healing, and fraternity. The Warriors to Lourdes documentary highlights the event, diving deeply into the stories of veterans as they attend the event.

SETUP | The Knights of Columbus was founded in 1882 by Catholic Priest, Michael J. McGivney. As a priest, he was known to be a strong advocate for widows, orphans, and migrant communities. In 2020, the Catholic Church bestowed on him the honor of “Blessed”, indicating the positive impact he had on the world in life and death.
RESULT | To celebrate and raise awareness for their deceased founder, a documentary was produced that highlighted his impact around the world. During the beginning of the pandemic, crews were arranged to film safely and successfully in the United States, Canada, South Korea, the Philippines, France, Mexico, Ukraine, Nigeria, and Poland. The finished video was broadcast around the world.

SETUP | Nanguang Photo & Video Systems launched a new brand of lighting equipment: Nanlite. They needed engaging and informative videos to present their new products to a fresh market.
RESULT | Four high-impact anchor videos were created for their lighting systems. From there, multiple versions were made optimized for Facebook and Instagram.

SETUP | The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a humanitarian crisis in many of the hardest-hit communities in the United States. Beginning in April 2020 and continuing to this day, the Knights of Columbus, a Fortune 1000 insurance company, has dedicated millions to relief efforts around the world. They have encouraged their members to help in their local communities, offering much-needed aid.
RESULT | Over 30 videos were produced and released highlighting the work of the Knights of Columbus through their “Leave No Neighbor Behind” initiative. During the height of the pandemic, crews safely and successfully captured the work, creating a long-term marketing and awareness campaign that brought in 7.7 million to support the initiative.

SETUP | The Catholic Church is facing a crisis of dwindling membership, and that is heavily reflected in the number of active priests. The Archdiocese of Chicago’s vocations office works tirelessly to engage with men, encouraging them to consider living the life of a priest.
RESULT | As part of their marketing plan, a new video was constructed in English and Spanish, encouraging active Catholics to consider the question - who will fill the shoes of the older generation of priests?

SETUP | The war in Ukraine has caused a humanitarian crisis in Europe. Millions of Ukrainian civilians have been displaced. The Knights of Columbus, a charitable organization immediately began work to support the people of Ukraine.
RESULT | A social media campaign was constructed and crews were immediately sent to Ukraine and Poland to begin to capture the on-the-ground efforts of the Knights of Columbus. Social media-friendly commercials were constructed to raise awareness and funds. To date, over 17 million has been raised to support the people of Ukraine and surrounding affected ares.

SETUP | One of the largest immigrant groups in the United States is from El Salvador. Between a long-lasting civil war and the presence of various gangs, life there can be dangerous. Alex, an immigrant to the United States, found help through Catholic Charities.
RESULT | A series of videos were created to bring to light the work of Catholic Charities, increasing awareness and assisting with fundraising.

SETUP | In March 2016, the US Government formally recognized the persecution of religious minorities, including Christians, by the Islamic State in Iraq, Syria, Egypt, and Libya. The Knights of Columbus, a fortune 1000 insurance company and charitable organization, needed a series of videos to accompany a larger campaign to raise awareness and funds to assist the affected communities.
RESULT | A series of informational videos were produced alongside an emotionally impactful scripted commercial. To date, nearly $30 million has been raised to support displaced refugees and rebuild towns destroyed by ISIS.

SETUP | Tanner was a struggling alcoholic who hit rock-bottom when he had to endure a bilateral above the knee amputation. Rei was a puppy living with a neglectful owner.
RESULT | Tanner & Rei met, mutually rescuing each other.

SETUP | In Spring 2019, Kendrick Castillo, a high school student in Colorado sacrificed himself to save his classmates as a gunman tried to shoot his classroom. His sacrifice saved the life of many that day.
RESULT | Kendrick, who had always wanted to be a member of the Knights of Columbus, received an honorary posthumous membership. His story, shared with the whole community, seeks to inspire others to live unselfishly, in his memory.

SETUP | Every year, the best of the best in regional media are awarded and celebrated during the Chicago/Midwest Regional Emmy Awards.
RESULT | A summary video highlighting the excitement of the event was captured and assembled.
